This position will serve as the main contact for all editorial, advertising and operation activities, and in this role you will develop a business plan and launch a new portal for CTQ Media. The topics are varied and we have a few defined, but we're looking to meet qualified candidates -- not try to fit a square peg into a round hole.

CTQ Media will support you with a proven and mature technology base, well defined and successful processes, and mentoring to drive results. This position reports to the CEO of CTQ Media.

Responsibilities
Perform managing director and editorial duties including, but not limited to:
  • work with authors and copyeditors on article submissions,
  • maintain a repository of article topic ideas and an article pipeline,
  • prepare articles for publishing,
  • ensure all editorial deadlines are met,
  • manage an editorial team,
  • manage the copyright and licensing processes,
  • develop and manage authors,
  • solicit and sell advertising space,
  • effectively deal with legal matters,
  • perform web site updates and moderation, as appropriate,
  • manage email correspondence with readers and customers, and
  • build and mail community newsletters.
Grow the business profitably.

Continuously monitor competitors, competitors' customers, suppliers and other industry forces.

Act as a mentor to other editors of CTQ Media.

Skill/Competencies Required
Corporate experience.

Ideal candidate will be an energetic, hands-on manager who has vision and extensive editorial skills; demonstrated writing talent; passion for business management topics; familiarity with the on- and off-line publishing processes; excellent business acumen; and proven leadership ability.

Unquestionable integrity; dependable and responsible work ethic with minimal supervision.

Ability to build strong working relationships with external customers.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.

Ability to travel periodically.

Education
Bachelor's degree required.

Master's degree preferred.
